We need driver and passenger assistants – could you spare any time? No regular commitment – more details here http://bwbus.org/volunteer
After our appeal for funding to repair Bertie, we are delighted to report that he is back on the road. Bertie is an accessible minibus, with passenger lift and space for one wheelchair.
On the photo, Bertie is on the right and Winston is on the left. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and thank you to Burtonwood & Westbrook Parish Council and Winwick Parish Council for responding to our appeal. Special thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Paul Diamond, who sorted this out for us!
We are still operating to collect shopping, prescriptions, medicines etc. Just call if you need anything, even if it’s just to talk. Stay safe
Your Community Bus will continue to run as a bus service unless the Government advises against it. Our Team want to continue to help and are ready to do so.
- We will pick up shopping for people who are confined to their homes
- We are there to talk on the phone to people who are on their own
- We can run errands, such as posting letters
We will produce a leaflet for every home in Burtonwood and Winwick. Let Cathy know if you can help delivering it 🙂
Please call Cathy on 07815 550157 or our main number if we can help you.
Sending our love to anyone who is affected by this x
Our bus service is back on the road now. We owe a huge thank you to Amazon from Omega for helping us.
Thank you also to Warrington Borough Council for their ongoing support for this project.
Photos today were taken by super talented Brad Taylor. Check out his website
We’ve had a lot of problems to overcome, but we are back!! Our service will restart on Wednesday 29th January. The bus we now have has 13 passenger seats but doesn’t have a lift.
We are now a charity, registered number 1187571.
Please support us
We understand that the reduction in the 141 service is causing increasing difficulties for residents in accessing shops, work, GPs and hospital services.
Don’t forget that the community bus is here for all residents – you just need to call 01925 357720 to book.
We will be introducing some new volunteering roles shortly, including volunteer support, volunteer recruitment, community fundraiser and grants. We are also looking for directors who can bring enthusiasm and skills to our project. All are volunteer roles. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
Our admin volunteers now answer the phone between 9am and 1pm. If you call outside of those times, your call will be returned the following day. If you would like to volunteer to answer the phone for us please email email@example.com
We are looking for volunteers to answer the phone for us. Work from home, basic IT skills needed, full training and support will be given
Thank you so much to GGHT for granting our application for funding for the recruitment of volunteers 🙂
